What is Pierce's Disease?

Pierce's Disease is a bacterial infection, which is spread by bugs that feed on grapevines, particularly the "glassy winged sharpshooter." Grapevines that become infected with PD can quickly become sick and die.

Linking the model of the development of Pierce's disease in grapevines to an understanding of the dynamics of glassy-winged sharpshooter transmission of Xylella fastidiosa to grapevines and grapevine gene expression markers of Pierce's disease infection.
