  • Abstract: A cationic peroxidase (CPOD) was purified from leaves of Vitis vulpina L, and some of its characteristics were analyzed. The results showed that the cationic peroxidase could be induced by 6-benzylaminopurine. It also inhibited markedly by salinity, H2O2 or Fe2+ + H2O2, in vivo. But the purified CPOD was stimulated significantly by high concentrations of inorganic salts. The optimum pH of the CPOD activity was between 4.60 and 5.75 with guaiacol as substract. The apparent Vmax and Km were 110 U/mg protein and H2O2 1.15 mmol/L, respectively.
