Dissipation of fludioxonil in vineyards

  • Author(s): Li, G.; Lin, Hong; Wong, S.;
  • Abstract: The environmental degradation of fludioxonil, a phenylpyrrole fungicide for control of grape ripe rot disease and one of the major ingredient in SWITCH(R), was studied under the local conditions. The results indicated fludioxonil was stable in both sterilized and unsterilized water within 84 days of incubation. The half-lives of aerobic and anaerobic soil degradation were 84 days and 69 days respectively. Photodegradation on soil surface was studied in the summer under of subtropical condition, and the half-life was 9 hours. The results of field dissipation studies showed that DT50 of winter grape (from August to November) and summer grape (from April to July) were 23 days and 20 days respectively. The light-shielding effect of construction caused reducing of degradation rate on the constructional vineyard, and the DT50 of field dissipation was 30 days.
