  • Abstract: Association of nematodes and Pasteuria spp. was studied on peach and plum trees and grapevines in Andradas, Caldas and Santa Rita de Caldas countiesin the south of Minas Gerais, Brazil, using 230 samples. Meloidogyne spp. and Tylenchulus spp. females were extracted from roots using the waring blender method and Xiphinema spp. were extracted by Cobb sieving and decanting method. Other soil nematodes were extracted by the centrifugation and flotation method using a sucrose solution. The plant parasitic nematodes in their descending order of occurrence in all three hosts were: Helicotylenchus dihystera (96.6%), Meloidogyne incognita (49.7%), Criconemella xenoplax (46.8%), Criconemella sphaerocephala (21.9%), Hemicycliophora poranga (20.0%). Tylenchulus semipenetrans (17.1%) occurred in peach trees and grapevines, as well as three species of Xiphinema: X. brasiliense (16.6%), X. krugi (15.6%) and X. brevicolle (3.9%). The bacteria Pasteuria spp. was found parasitising M. incognita (12.6%), H. dihystera (6.9%) and T. semipenetrans (1.3%).
